Medacta is a pioneering Swiss company in the field of orthopaedics, specializing in the development and manufacture of high-quality implants for the hip, knee, and spine. At the same time, it has made a decisive contribution to the evolution and dissemination of modern surgical techniques, most notably the anterior approach to the hip (AMIS), which it has dynamically brought back to the forefront of contemporary orthopaedics in recent years.
Our collaboration with Medacta has continued for many years and is based on a shared philosophy of individualized and minimally invasive patient care. In total hip arthroplasty, we apply the anterior approach (AMIS), while also utilizing preoperative three-dimensional planning with computed tomography through the MyHip system, achieving a high degree of personalization for each patient.
In total knee arthroplasty, we have been using Medacta’s individualized preoperative planning systems, as well as its corresponding implants, for more than 13 years. The most recent addition to our therapeutic arsenal is Medial Pivot arthroplasty, which is designed to more closely replicate the natural kinematics of the knee and provide a more natural feeling during movement.
